Meet Ahmed Wael (Shika)
Shika is a junior squash player competing for Blackball Sporting club and the Egyptian National Team. He has represented both himself and his country in numerous domestic and international competitions. His achievements include, but not limited to a 2X national title, and a 2X British Junior Open (BJO) Semi-finalist. Shika finished his BU17 2019 season as #1 and is looking forward to beginning his BU19 season.

What drove you to the sport of Squash?
My older brother actually began playing before I did, and I would go with him to his practices. Whenever I got the chance I would hop on court and hit a few balls, and from there I fell in love with the sport.
What motivates you to keep working hard?
Knowing that I can make a career out of Squash, which is something I love would be huge. Also, the support I get from my fellow athletes and coaches and their belief in my potential.
What’s your goal as a Squash player?
As a junior my goal is to win the BJO and the World Junior Open in BU19. My overall goal as a squash player is to compete on the PSA world tour and to earn the world #1 title.
What’s your favorite workout/way to sweat it out?
Running
What’s another activity/sport do you enjoy doing or watching?
Soccer and listening to music.
